Holland Ridge Farms is owned by the Jansens. At the head of the family is Casey Sr, a Dutch bulb grower who moved to the USA 55 years ago. Along with his growing experience, he brought with him a seed of an idea to share his love of flowers with the public. When he stumbled across a forgotten dairy farm in New Jersey, he knew he had found the location for his vision.
Casey Sr, his son Casey Jr and the rest of his family spent months lovingly restoring the farm to its former glory while also incorporating their Dutch heritage. They also planted more than 1 million tulip bulbs in the process and in April 2018 they opened the gates to the public for the first time. The response was overwhelmingly positive. Tens of thousands of visitors flocked to the farm to experience the inspiring colors of Holland.
Building on the success of the tulips, the family added a sunflower festival in the Fall. Both events attract visitors from across the United States, including couples, families, groups, and professional photographers and continue to grow year on year. This floral escape is just an hour’s drive from both Philadelphia and New York City which encouraged them to coin the phrase “Don’t fly to Holland, drive to Holland!”
